R. K. S. Lim 1, Alister R. Matheson 1, and W. Schlapp 1

1 The Department of Physiology, University of Edinburgh

(1) A method is described for investigating the secretory function of the stomach and duodenum in man. It consists essentially of applying continuous suction to theses organs simultaneously by means of two separate tubes.

(2) The method of employing histamine as a gastric secretory test is outlined.

The expenses of this work have been defrayed by grants from the Carnegie Trust and from the Earl of Moray Fund for the Promotion of Research in the University of Edinburgh.
