LENGTH-BREADTH CORRELATION IN THE RED CELLS OF THE TROUT
1 The Biological Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, and Washington Square College, New York
Measurements of the cell length, cell breadth, nuclear length, and nuclear breadth in elliptical and nucleated red cells of the brown, brook, and rainbow trout show that there is a very low correlation between the length and breadth of the cells of their nuclei. This is the same sort of conclusion as has already been arrived at for the elliptical cells of the camels, and for the relation of diameter to thickness in the red cells of the mammals.
