E. A. H. Roberts 1, B. G. Maegraith 1, and H. W. Florey 1

1 The Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, Oxford

1. A highly purified specimen of cat lysozyme and a less pure one of human lysozyme have been prepared.

2. Chemical and serological comparison shows clear-cut differences between them, though all specimens have the power to dissolve M. lysodeikticus.

We are indebted to the Medical Research Council for a grant towards the expenses of this work.
