THE HYPOTHALAMUS AND GASTRIC MOTILITY
1 Royal College of Surgeons of Englands
1. Anterior hypothalamic stimulation produces a marked increase in gastric tone and motility.
2. Posterior hypothalamic stimulation produces a much less marked converse effect and seems to be limited to a transient relaxation of the pyloric end of the stomach.
This work was carried out at the Buckston Browne Surgical Research Farm of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I am indebted to Mr. F. Watson for his technical assistance.
